Our Mission & Vision

Rotary is built on connections

Rotary is based on the idea of networking and one of the benefits for Rotary members is the opportunity to gain international experience and contacts. Rotary Öresund can offer different ways to get in touch with people from all over the world, partly by participating in international Rotary meetings, partly by collaborating on projects with a club from another country.

Mission & Purpose

“Rotary Connects the World”

Rotary is an international network of friends in about 200 countries. Through community, we build lifelong relationships that promote greater global understanding. The goals & purpose of the International Committee are to:
promote international understanding and goodwill through personal and cross-border contacts and attract more Rotary members by keeping international projects open to non-members as well.

Essential building block in our international projects

The value of sustainability issues in international networks
Rotary Malmö-Öresund, together with the City of Malmö, can show the city’s work for a sustainable, climate-safe city and how we can act in climate and environmental work. This work supports, develops and coordinates external developments in environmental areas and in environmental policy around the world.
More and more often, members turn to us to seek, not only friendship, but also a way to make a contribution to the good. Environmental work can be such an issue to get involved in.

Climate-safe cities

Today, more than half of the world’s population lives in cities. According to the UN, that figure will increase to two thirds by 2050. Cities need to adapt to be safe and sustainable given climate change
There are not so many differences between different cities. Cities are simply clusters of people and they all have the same needs: to live, work, nurture, learn and relax. The biggest challenge today is to radically change the way we think, to respond to climate change and to adapt to the needs of a growing population.
Let us accept the challenge. Let us together try to go one step further than our current responsibilities. Let us take the necessary steps forward towards tomorrow’s issues.
Malmö has been an international model for sustainable urban development for more than two decades.
The City of Malmö works to be a role model for global climate and environmental work. Together with business and other actors, we create a sustainable city where everyone should be able to live a good life within the planet’s borders.

Timeless & available

Rotary with over a million members, we know what people can do when they gather. In our hometown and around the world, there is power in our contacts and networks.
We have created networks for collaboration and focus our efforts to have an increased impact.

The City of Malmö

The City of Malmö actively participates in many development projects in order to constantly promote the value of sustainability issues. Through collaboration with the City of Malmö for concepts for sustainable and climate-safe cities, we support climate and environmental work and develop and coordinate various types of projects that will lead to an increased democratic influence.
